We’ve just arrived safely in Los Angeles and have a couple of highlights to share from the journey here.
We had a great pit stop in Ventura. After wading through the Labor Day traffic, we went for an evening stroll along the botanical garden trail behind city hall, which gave us stunning views of both downtown and suburban Ventura. In the evening, we walked along the pier and part of the waterfront. Great atmosphere, with a strong smell of the sea and some violent waves.
Today we stopped at Santa Monica, and as we relaxed at the end of the pier, we saw a guy drop everything he owned into the water. He shouted to his girlfriend, “Nooooo! My sunglasses, my keys… everything!”. We were gutted for him, but he shouldn’t have been wearing his entire possessions on his head. They floated away and he did the same thing I’m sure I would have done, put his head in his hands and sat on a bench.
The Santa Monica mountains are beautiful, as are the numerous canyons and beaches we passed on the Pacific Coast Highway. We parked up at Malibu Lagoon while the surf was up and watched the waves. The West Coast landscape has exceeded expectations. Now we’re back in the city for our final leg of our trip to the USA.
That poor man! Enjoy LA anyway. I’m sure you will. Xxxx
Your vivid descriptions and fantastic pics make me want to visit the west coast! Keep living the dream ?X
