Scotts Brewing Co – The ale is good here and there is a nice beer garden. I had their golden ale and Paul had their porter. They also do amazing pizzas and chips/wedges!
Steam – Great cafe and they roast their own coffee beans so always a bonus for us! We like how they serve your coffee in a cup and give you a jug of boiling water so you can make it to your desired strength.
wanaka
The Bakery – We had the best pies and cream buns from here! I had mince and cheese and Paul had butter chicken. Both popular pie flavours in New Zealand and both work really well! We then topped them off with the biggest cream buns ever!! The brown stuff isn’t burnt bread, it’s chocolate! Amazing!!
Patagonia – Popular place for chocolate, ice-cream and coffee. Extremely good ice-cream!
Rippon Vineyard – Lovely location and free wine tasting session with lovely people. We bought a bottle of the Reisling.

Fat Pipi Pizza – Very popular with the locals and rightly so. We shared a large pizza and got half (chicken and chorizo) and half (pepperoni and anchovies). Delicious!
Clocktower Cafe – Our hosts recommended this place for a whitebait fritter sandwich as the whitebait was fresh. Amazing!
christchurch
Little High – Very cool eatery with 8 different choices of cuisine. Very popular! We both opted for Japanese food and it was delicious. I had the salmon donburi which is in the picture. Paul ate his too quick before I could get a snap! He had the pork 😀
Akaroa Fisheries – Amazing fish and chips. We shared because you get tons!!!
Underground Coffee Roasters – Excellent single origin coffee. We went for Guatemalan.

Spirit House (Miramar) – Good value for money Pan Asian restaurant as the portions are massive! We shared stir fried chilli and basil with pork and a chicken kung fu curry. Both fragrant and delicious.
Memphis Belle Coffee House – Very cool speciality coffee house. Can’t remember where our coffee was from but it was good!
Tommy Millions – Best pizza slice ever and at only $5 each, a real bargain. Paul went for ‘The Porker’ and I had a special with asparagus, mushroom, truffled ricotta and walnuts. We loved it so much, we actually went back again.
Vinyl Bar – Cool little bar with good music.
The Library – Not very cheap but we splashed out and had a cocktail each. Paul had a duck fat infused whiskey cocktail (he liked it) and I had their take on a cosmopolitan. Tasty. Only remembered to get a pic of mine too late so I missed Paul’s. He said it was like an Old Fashioned though.
Malthouse – Great craft ale place with a very big selection. We both went for the APA.
Wellington Night Market – Heaven for us. So many stalls to choose from. We had dumplings and a lamb madras and it was all to die for!
The Little Waffle Shop – You could quite easily miss this place but if you’re a sucker for a waffle, don’t! We both has the black forest one and I think the picture says it all.
Capital Market – Another foodie heaven! So much good food to choose from. Paul had a lamb kebab and a giant pork bun. I had a Vietnamese chicken salad and it was amazing! Very spicy!
